The first black man arrived Virginia in 1619,
then the blacks were initially treated as indentured servants. After period of
service, they were free to go work their
own land. But by 1681, laws were passed to legalize slavery. From then on
Africa became the world’s greatest “Manufactures of Slaves”.
So for almost 200 years, Africans have been
wearing the chains of slavery, on the legs, hands and as decorative necklace of
labour.
Thereafter
came the era of independence. By sheer strategy of misdirection, the chains
were removed after much complaint. Please note, the chains were not broken. It
was simply removed from hands, legs and neck and embedded in the brain.
Ever since, the black mind has been struggling to
understand itself. But since the black mind inadvertently was the disease
itself, it has become an almost futile
surgical exercise to free the diseased mind.
The
non-blacks who know the problem, are not
sincere and honest enough to help; after all they spread the disease actively
or passively. Then again it is politically correct to take advantage of the
black mind,
Therefore the impossible had to be done, a black
diseased mind had to free itself by itself. This is the struggle of the
coloured skin. Our present challenge.
The challenge at present is overwhelming for
those who have taken bold steps to discover, uncover and break this hidden
chains. This is because they are the minority. To them the task is enormous as
well as frustrating, for according to a
wise saying,
“try as much as you can, even a thousand
men cannot undress a naked man who claims to be clothed”.
Hopeless at it seems, all hope is not lost.
Thank
God for those who know the exact name of
the disease and are willing to go the extra mile and dare a recovery act.
Take heart, in knowing that almost 200 years old
physical slavery and a 100 years old mental slavery cannot be
easily undone by a few talk shows and chit chats.
The name of the disease is sure, the location is
certain, the surgery has begun, what remains is the persistence and commitment
to get rid of this 300 old disease.
