For so long
now, as far as we can remember, Nollywood has been in the news mostly for the wrong reasons.
From the
incessant politics and in-fighting in
most of the professional guild that constitute the core network of the industry,
to the Presidency vs. Entertainment Industry
–Nexim bank grant/loan brouhaha, right to the Controversial and imposition of a
non professional film maker as the head of NFC. Then to the new Nudism
philosophy ravishing the industry both on set and off set. The list is long and
discouraging.
However respite
has come our way, on the platform of a new series Tittled: REDBOX, which is
currently on location.
Andy
Nwakalu, Muktar Bako and Bature are set to repeat history, when the best of
television content came from Jos.
Critics of
Hollywood have always claimed, a valid one, that one of the weakest link in the
Nollywood production chain is story/script.
With REDBOX, the story is different, the
pictures excellent and the cast fresh as an apple. This is no doubt good news
to the lovers of excellent production, in the likes of Merlin, Spartacus and Legend
of the Seeker.
REDBOX is
